A Knoxville man died Tuesday in a single vehicle accident in Kentucky.
Officers say 34-year-old Salvador Alvarez was in the passenger seat of a vehicle on Pennyrile Parkway in Hopkins County, Kentucky around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday when the driver of the vehicle lost control and over-corrected. The vehicle flipped in the median after hitting a guardrail.
Officials say Alvarez was initially wearing his seatbelt, but took it off to try to help the driver gain control of the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle and another passenger were both transported to Madison Regional Medical Center.
