Dozens of airports across the state are set to receive millions in federal and state grants. The money will go toward infrastructure and other improvements.
More than $600,000 was awarded to McGhee Tyson, and the airport is planning to use the money for a terminal roof replacement after hail damage last spring.
Downtown Island Airport is also set to get a little more than $700,000.
In total, $18.3 million in grants will go to 20 Tennessee airports.
The state Department of Transportation's aeronautics division makes these grants available.
