One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 in east Knoxville
It happened just before noon on Friday east of the Strawberry Plains exit.
According to Knoxville Police, the driver left the eastbound lanes for an unknown reason and hit a bridge pillar.
The driver has been identified as Rachael Ann Hale, 44, of Knoxville.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
