Former Lady Vols lead Team USA to Olympic baskeball semifinals

The USA Women's Olympic Basketball Team has advanced to the semifinals in Olympic action, with two former Lady Vols making big contributions to that victory.

Team USA beat Canada 91-48 in quarterfinal round action at Olympic Park Basketball Arena on Tuesday.

Former Lady Vol Candace Parker was one of five Americans scoring in double figures, connecting for 12 points and adding seven rebounds, three assists and a steal to the box score in 13 minutes of duty. Another former Lady Vol, Tamika Catchings, just missed double digits for points, finishing with nine and tallying six boards, four steals, two assists and a block in 21 minutes.

The next game, against Australia, will be played at North Greenwich Arena on Thursday, the time has not yet been set.
