The Anderson County Courthouse was able to salvage nearly all of its records following flooding during a recent storm.

The storm in early July filled the records room with a half-inch of water. The water leaked in because the courthouse roof was undergoing renovations.

Now, County Budget Director Chris Phillips says they only had to send two boxes of old records for repair.

Officials had expected more damage.

The county used vacuums and dehumidifiers to clear out all the water, and that roof repair is now complete.
