Doug Mains and the City Folk with Sarah Lou Richards will perform on the WDVX Blue Plate Special. The free broadcast begins at noon at the Knoxville Visitor Center.
The Knoxville Museum of Art continues its "Alive After Five" series with Little Big Band. They are a swing band with its own distinctive sound. General admission is $10. "Alive After Five" runs from 6 to 8:30 pm.
Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center continues their 2012 Sunset Music Series with Mountain Soul. Admission is $5 to the 7 pm performance.
The Tennessee Smokies are finally back at home for a weekend homestand. The Smokies will play host to the Huntsville Stars on this Fireworks Friday. If you love NASCAR than this game is right for you. Come out to the park and support your favorite driver by wearing their apparel. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15.

The Tennessee Theatre presents 1964 "The Tribute". The Beatles tribute band was formed in 1982, and have performed over 2900 shows. Tickets are available for $27, and may be purchased at the Tennessee Theatre box office. Show time is set for 8 pm.
Ijams Nature Center invites you to check out their "Family Program: Bat Night" at 8:30 pm. You'll learn a little about these flying mammals, learn how to hear like one, and then go see if you can find some in the park. The fee for this program is $5 for members and $8 for non-members. The Square Room welcomes Unknown Hinson to the stage. Tickets to check out the country and western-tinged psychobilly rock, can be purchased for $18. Show time is set for 9 pm, in downtown Knoxville.
Cutthroat Shamrock will headline a night a music at the Preservation Pub. Grandpa's Stash will kick off the show at 10 pm.
SATURDAY AUGUST 11
Spirit of Nations Traditional Powwow will take place at the Jacobs Building in Chilhowee Park. There will be dance demonstrations, Indian Frybread, storytelling, a blowgun competition, and more. The Levee Drivers with Cory Bishop will perform on the Saturday edition of the WDVX Blue Plate Special. You can be entertained at the Knoxville Visitor Center for free at noon.

It's once again for time for the Second Saturday Concert at The Cove at Concord Park. Enjoy the music from Knoxville Symphony Brass in the park, or from the water. Hayes Carll with special guest Grace Askew will take the stage at The Shed at Smoky Mountain Harley-Davidson. Tickets are $20 to the 8 pm show.
Mic Harrison and the High Score will perform at The Well in Bearden. Adam Lee & the Dead Horse Sound Company will open the show at 10 pm. There is a $7 admission for this 21 and up show.
SUNDAY AUGUST 12
The Tennessee Smokies will battle the Huntsville Stars at 5 pm. Bring your family out to enjoy a "Nine-Inning Vacation!" for only $48. A family of four can get game tickets, a meal and two Kids Zone wristbands.
