After a full day of questioning, 12 jurors and two alternates were selected for the murder trial of Jessica Kennedy.
Kennedy is accused of killing Jim Miller in July 2010.
Miller was a local businessman and served as Monroe County election administrator.
His body was found in the trunk of his burned car along a remote road.
Opening arguments in the case are set to begin Tuesday morning.
28-year-old Jessica Kennedy faces charges of murder, robbery, arson and abuse of a corpse in the case.
She had confessed to her part in Miller's murder, but in July, asked a judge to throw that confession. She says she confessed in order to protect her children from the people she says killed Miller.
Her defense attorney, John Eldridge, questioned the potential jury pool at length about their ability to accept the concept of a "false confession."
He asked jurors if they believed a person could confess to a crime they did not commit.
He also asked them if they felt capable of fairly judging Kennedy if evidence of methamphetamine use was presented.
Eldridge prepared jurors for a lengthy and "gruesome" trial, and also for the possibility that they may never hear directly from the defendant.
He says they have yet to decide if Kennedy will take the stand.
Law enforcement and prosecutors have always said they believe other people were involved in Miller's murder, but no one else has been charged.
Assistant district attorney general for the 10th Judicial District Jim Stutts addressed some juror's skepticism that the person responsible for Miller's death acted alone.
He told jurors that the state has evidence against Kennedy, and she should be held responsible for her actions regardless of anyone else's involvement.
