Knoxville police officers said they are looking for a man accused of armed robbery outside the McDonald's on Cumberland Avenue.
According to a KPD sergeant, the victim said he was parked outside the McDonald's when a man entered into his car through the passenger door shortly before three Sunday afternoon.
The victim reported that after the man entered his vehicle, the suspect pulled up his shirt and showed the victim a black semi-automatic handgun, while demanding him to hand over his wallet.
After stealing the wallet, the suspect got into his vehicle, which was a new, yellow Camaro with a blue Kentucky license plate, and drove away. The victim said the suspect was wearing khaki shorts, a blue shirt and a white hat.
Violent Crime Investigators and the Crime Lab are currently working on several leads. KPD is looking for witnesses who saw the crime and any leads about the suspect and his vehicle. If you have any information, call 865-215-7000 and ask for the Violent Crimes unit.
