A Cosby man was killed in a crash early this morning in Sevier County.
According to the fatality report issued by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Jimmy E. Dixon, 51, of Cosby was driving a 2004 Honda CVS west on Hwy. 321 between Pittman Center and Cosby. Just after 5:30 am Tuesday morning, the report states that Dixon ran off the right side of the road, over-corrected, then crossed back over the eastbound lanes, spun around, and hit a tree on the passenger side.
The report states the Dixon was not wearing a seatbelt, and the investigating trooper believed that could have made a difference in the outcome of the crash.
