The trendy retailer Urban Outfitters is coming to Downtown Knoxville.
The store will be going into the Arnstein Building off Market Square and plans to open in spring 2013.
At Tuesday's city council meeting, there was a vote to offer a $250,000 incentive to help bring the retailer to the city. The money will help the developer offset expenses related to getting the store open.
David Dewhirst, the developer, says the store will be on the basement and first levels of the building. An architecture firm will occupy the second and third levels, and the fourth through seventh levels will be residences.
The project is estimated at $8.5 million.
This was the second attempt to get Urban Outfitters to Knoxville. The Central Business Improvement District tried to get the store to come to Downtown in 2010.
That effort failed when the retailer changed ownership.
