Friends and family gathered to remember a long-time Alcoa police officer who died suddenly last week.
A procession of cars escorted Officer James Edward Bowman to his final resting place on Wednesday morning.
He was buried at Grandview Cemetery, following a funeral service at Smith Trinity Chapel. His graveside service included full military honors and a final radio call.
"He was a dedicated father and loyal to family and friends. Thank you, Officer Bowman, for your service to the department and for protecting and serving the community with dignity and pride. This is your final call, 225," said the dispatcher over the radio.
Officials say Bowman died of natural causes on Saturday, at the age of 45.
He had served on the force since 2000, and was an Army veteran.
