Hurricane Isaac is affecting the plans of many in the Gulf Coast, even opponents of the Tennessee Smokies baseball team.

The Mobile BayBears played the Smokies Wednesday night. The team told 10News it was confident the storm would not affect its hometown too much. However, Isaac did cause the BayBears to lose a scheduled off day to travel. The team even said it would postpone an upcoming game in Mississippi.

"You know you just roll with the punches," BayBears player Dan Kaczrowski said.

BayBears hitting coach Jay Bell said the team has responded to the situation well. He said he has been keeping in contact with extended family in his native Pensacola, Florida.

"There's going to be some people that I'm concerned about," he said.

Some people are using social media to keep tabs on their loved ones living on the Gulf Coast. Knoxville resident Ashli Gunter said she is using Facebook to keep in touch with family in Louisiana.

She said websites like Facebook and Twitter would have provided much help to Louisianans during Hurricane Katrina.

"Communications they weren't as well as they are today," Gunter said.
