RED BANK, Tenn. (AP) -- The Red Bank City Commission has voted to take down its traffic cameras.
According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, the suburban Hamilton County city body voted 4-1 Tuesday night to halt use of the four traffic cameras.
The vote allows the city to give vendor American Traffic Solutions a 90-day notice, required by its contract.
The newspaper said a representative of the company attended the meeting, but declined comment afterward.
The only vote against ending use of the cameras came from Commissioner Ruth Jeno, who said the city needs to keep its police officers patrolling to control crime, not write traffic tickets.
