A campaign that helps dozens of East Tennessee organizations kicked off Wednesday. It's TVA's annual Smoky Mountain Region Combined Federal Campaign.
"It's important, especially as federal employees. One thing we do every day is support our community and our nation, and this is yet another way we can also take our fortune and share it with those in need," said Colonel Tim Cathcart.
Through this effort, all federal employees across the region can give back to various charitable organizations. Those organizations range from local to global.
Dr. Bill Bass, founder of the Body Farm, helped kick-off the campaign at TVA.
This year's fundraising goal is $775,000.
