A well-known ice cream shop was the scene of an armed robbery Wednesday night.
Knoxville police say a man entered Kay's Ice Cream Shop on Chapman Highway at around 8 o'clock, pointed a gun at employees and demanded money.
Police say the suspect took an employee's wallet, but couldn't get cash from the store safe. He then fled the scene.
Officials say the suspect is between 25 and 30 years old. He's about 5' 5", weighing 120 to 130 pounds, with blonde or light brown hair and brown eyes.
Police say he was wearing tan clothing with black shoes, a white surgical mask and a tan hat.
