Before kickoff at Sequoyah High School Friday night, the majorettes presented a check for $5,500 to the Butterfly Fund.

Students raised that money through a fundraiser.

"They have been creating butterfly pins with Australian crystals on it, and for a donation of $5-10, they get a butterfly with Australian crystals in it. They picked it up on their own," said Christina Harrill.

The Butterfly Fund raises money for childhood cancer research, treatment and services.

The families of Emily Barger and Maddie Harrill started the organization after the two girls died from a rare form of cancer only weeks apart in the summer of 2008.
