The Grainger County Commission meets Monday night to discuss zoning restrictions on pain clinics at 6:30 p.m.
Officials said they expect a large crowd at Monday's meeting, as they discuss prohibiting pain clinics in Grainger County.
A new state law, which became effective at the start of the year, states all pain management clinics in Tennessee must be registered with the state. These types of clinics must have a state certificate and not accept cash as a payment.
This regulation was an attempt to close clinics known as "pain mills," which are known to prescribe large amounts of painkillers.
