Gator Hater blood drive

This week, Vol fans can take on Gator fans to see who can donate the most blood. The seventh annual competition starts Monday, September 10 and runs through Friday, September 14.

The blood drive in East Tennessee will be at MEDIC Regional Blood Center, while University of Florida fans will donate at LifeSouth Blood Center in Gainesville.

There are more incentives for donating. Donors will receive a free game day t-shirt and a coupon for a complimentary small pizza from Snappy Tomato.

Medic Regional Blood Center has two donor centers: 1601 Ailor Avenue and 11000 Kingston Pike in Farragut. Several community and campus drives are scheduled as well.

Donors must be at least 17 years or older, weigh 110 pounds or more and must provide some form of identification.

Hypnotist show

Chris Mabrey entertains visitors at the Tennessee Valley Fair each night with his hypnotism acts.

Shows are set for 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Monday - Friday, 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15 and 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16.

Kid fit garden

The North Side YMCA's summer Kid Fit Garden provided healthy veggies for our kids, members, and for pediatric patients at Tennova.

Now organizers are looking for volunteers interested in keeping up a fall and winter vegetable garden that will provide fresh produce for YMCA members and the community.
