According to Allstate Insurance, Knoxville is one of the country's safest cities to drive in.
Knoxville was ninth on the company's 2012 list, which ranks America's 200 largest cities in terms of car collision frequency.
According to the report, Knoxville drivers are 18.1 percent less likely to be involved in a collision in comparison to the national average. It said Knoxville drivers also average a time span of 12.2 years in between the collisions they have.
A South Dakota city, Sioux Falls, ranked number one on Allstate's list.

However, AAA East Tennessee spokesperson Don Lindsey pointed out that Allstate's report only focuses on a particular piece of data. He said if it focused on another item, like road fatalities or injuries, the results could be different.
That said, he is still happy with the ranking.
"We're glad Knoxville ranks high in the country," said Lindsey.
He said he even thinks the region's hospitality could have something to do with why Knoxville ranked so high in the report.
"We in this area tend to be on the whole a little politer."
And, some Knoxville drivers think he may be onto something.
"People tend to drive a lot slower than they do up north," said downtown Knoxville resident Lizzy Hutton. "So, I think some people may not like that, but I think it tends to be safer."
However, not everyone is on board with that. Knoxville driver Patti Smith said there is room for improvement.
"Follow the rules," she told fellow drivers.
But, Lindsey said drivers still need to be cautious on the roads, despite the ranking.
According to TDOT, there have been 705 traffic fatalities this year in the state of Tennessee. That is 42 more than there were this time last year.
