President Obama spent the 9/11 anniversary in our nation's capitol.
He made a trip to Walter Reed National Medical Center to meet with soldiers and their families.
One of those soldiers was an East Tennessean. The president spent about 10 minutes talking with Private First Class Marshall Lane of Johnson City.
Lane was shot on August 13 by an Afghan national who was being trained by U.S. troops.
