So it seems that some younger folks are getting in on the daring of Erin.
Our friend Chase got Mom in on the antics and then it happened. Photographer JJ and I headed over to the soccer field to play with the IFA soccer league. I'm pretty sure I had no idea what I was in for and pretty much I have not played soccer since sixth grade.
Chase was nice enough to let me use his shin guards... they fit oh so very well. ha ha Is there a Mia Hamm version of these darn things?
Let's just say that I was ready and when Coach decided to let me play I decided to run with the big dawgs.. and when I say big dawgs I mean like 6 or 7 year olds. Those kids don't know fear yet and I am pretty sure they could not smell it on me.. heh
A couple drills later, it was time to move up to another age range. In all honesty, I could have stayed with the younger ones. I was doing well.
This is also the time when I pelted Photographer JJ with the ball. Being on this team is not safe for either one of us sometimes. He is a trooper.
Anywhoo, so on my way to be an attacker and a back tackle it was time to move up. I was almost ready for banana kicks.. I should have stuck with banana clips because this may have been where I fell flat on my face... I honestly can't remember, the name.. but I do remember faceplanting.
Then it was goalie time. Yep, my soccer days are far, far behind me.. but the scrapes and bruises are new! ha ha! I had a blast and thanks to all the kids, the parents and the IFA for having us out.
