For the second time in a week, the University of Tennessee basked in the glow of the national spotlight Wednesday.

It was all part of the "Kathie Lee and Hoda College Challenge."

The crew from the 4th hour of the TODAY Show set up shop in front of Ayres Hall.

"I started tweeting them like once a day, twice a day, then the competition really started to heat up, and I stalked my friends, made them all tweet, blew up Twitter, I've tweeted like a thousand times in the past two weeks," said Laura Brooks, a UT student in the Delta Delta Delta sorority who really got the ball rolling on the contest.

UT is one of six college finalists. The school with the most votes by this Friday afternoon will win a visit from Kathie Lee and Hoda and the entire crew.

"I think this is going to be a tough race, honestly," Haines said. "I mean, the groups have seen the ones before, and they come to play, and every group keeps raising the temperature, so this is going to be really interesting to see how it plays out."

Members of the Pride of the Southland Band, along with cheerleaders, Smokey, and plenty of students and fans showed their Big Orange pride for the television camera. They chanted, sang and waved plenty of signs.

The big day came less than a week after ESPN's GameDay crew took over Circle Park for a live broadcast before the big UT-Florida game on Saturday.

"Even with the loss on Saturday, everyone was still so excited to show UT spirit, and it just shows just how great UT fans are, like rain or shine, win or lose, we always come out in full force, and Hoda and Kathie Lee better know that now," Brooks said.

So, the students and fans are determined to keep voting.

"We're all about the competition, obviously, and this time, we're gonna win it," Jillian Smith said.
