A Maryville woman will soon make her national TV debut as a contestant on Wheel of Fortune. Amanda Hill flies to Los Angeles on Friday to tape the show.
Back in the spring, Hill applied at the Wheel Mobile when it stopped by Turkey Creek. A few months later, she was invited to the final auditions in Knoxville, and just two weeks ago, the show told her she'll be heading to L.A.
Hill says being selected hasn't sunk in yet.
"It seems so surreal now and I've talked to other contestants, and they say the whole experience seems so surreal and they don't actually believe it until they actually see themselves on the show on TV. So this is definitely one of my dreams come true. It's like number one on my bucket list," she said.
Hill says she's been preparing for the game by playing the Wheel of Fortune app, doing crosswords and reading blogs about the show.
The actual air date of her episode hasn't been determined yet.
