Some people believe liquor sales are good for the economy; others think hard spirits are harmful to communities.  Residents of two Scott County cities are debating the matter right now.

"This town...if they want jobs or money to come in here...bring in jobs," said Derita Long, who is against liquor sales.

"We need the taxes, the revenue.  We need all the help we can get over here," said Mark Sexton, a supporter of liquor sales.

Huntsville and Winfield will vote on two liquor items November 6.

"Liquor by the drink" and "liquor retail package stores" will be on both ballots, according to an election official in Scott County.

Scott County maintains the highest unemployment rate in the state.

Liquor by the drink failed by 10 votes in Huntsville two years ago.
