The Lenoir City Pool has been officially renamed the "Claire Donahue Aquatic Center," after their hometown Olympic gold medalist.

Claire Donahue attended the naming ceremony on Saturday. She first learned the pool would be named after her, while she was in London.

"To have something so close to my heart named after me was exciting," said Donahue. "I was a little shocked at first. I said, 'Really?'"

Donahue won a gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics for the 4x100 medley relay.

She was recently awarded the key to Lenoir City as well. Donahue is now training in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
