Visitors to downtown Knoxville may have to find a detour around a small portion of Gay Street.
Knoxville dispatchers say crews are removing a non-working clock from a building in the 500 block of South Gay Street.
That's the portion of the street between Union Avenue and Clinch Avenue.
The segment will be shut down through Sunday for the removal of a sign and supporting structure from the roof, according to the Knoxville Regional Transportation Planning Organization Web site.
