A park spokesperson says two teen boys who were missing since Sunday night have been located in the Smokies.

Park officials say a ranger search team is forming to look for two teen boys who were reported missing in the Abrams Creek area Sunday night.

A GSMNP spokesperson says a mother and two 14-year-old teen boys split up in the park yesterday.  The boys headed to the Coopers Road and Little Bottoms Trail area.  She fished her way down the river towards them.

When she reached the half-way meeting point and the teens didn't arrive on time, the mom began searching for them.

She reported the teens missing to Rangers around 8:00 p.m Sunday. Officials say rangers conducted a initial hasty search. rangers check all trails during a hasty search.

At the time of this posting, rangers were assembling to launch a more thorough search.

It's not known where the teens and mom are from or if the teens are experienced hikers.
