Joe Biden spent time just over the mountains on Tuesday in Asheville. People in North Carolina can vote as early as October 18.

The swing state is crucial in this election. President Obama won by a narrow lead in 2008.

While speaking, Biden criticized Paul Ryan's budget plan, and also said it's one that represents the entire GOP.

"It's passed the Republican-dominated House of Representatives, and so you don't have to wonder what it will be like if Governor Romney and Paul Ryan are elected, because what they've laid out starkly in getting the votes they get in the Republican House is what Governor Romney wants to do from his perspective and for America, and ladies and gentlemen, the differences are immense," said Biden.

Paul Ryan made several campaign stops in Iowa.

Both Mitt Romney and President Obama are gearing up for Wednesday night's debate.
