The Meigs County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate a chop shop ring that stretched across multiple counties.
Deputies said 13 stolen vehicles were found at a residence in Meigs County. Vehicles were stolen from all surrounding counties including Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Roane, Blount, McMinn, Bradley and Hamilton Counties as well as from North Georgia.
Loudon Auto Sales in Loudon County was missing a flatbed wrecker truck. It turned out to be at the Meigs County residence. The wrecker returned to the auto sales company Wednesday after disappearing one week ago.
"I expected it to be in pieces by now," said Loudon Auto Sales owner Leon Ford. "So, I'm very thankful."
The sheriff's department said most of the vehicle owners have been notified. No arrests have been made. Charges are pending in the case.
