U.S. Marshals have arrested the owner of a Maryville pain clinic who has been on the run since October 2.
Tamral Guzman failed to appear at her federal trial on drug-related and money laundering charges. A jury convicted her, despite her absence.
Authorities say they've been tracking Guzman since she fled Maryville to Florida, where most of her family live.
Guzman was arrested without incident Wednesday morning as she walked on a boardwalk in Hollywood, Florida.
Marshals say they have requested a "warrant of removal" for Guzman, and expect her to be extradited back to Knoxville within 10 days. It is unlikely that she will face additional charges.
A federal jury has convicted the owner of a Maryville pain clinic of several drug-related charges while the search for her continues.
On Thursday, a jury convicted Tamral Guzman of the 56 counts against her, including conspiracy, drug charges and money laundering.
Guzman didn't show up to court on Tuesday, and U.S. marshals have searched for her since then. Federal Judge Tom Varlan issued a warrant for her arrest and ordered the trail to continue in her absence.
Guzman's sentencing is set for March 20.
Anyone with information on her location is asked to call the U.S. Marshal's office at (865) 545-4182.
