A local painters union donated its time, helping out Helen Ross McNabb with some building improvements.

Painters finished staining and painting the deck at the non-profit's John Tarleton Campus on Saturday morning. Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett asked the Painters Union Local 437 to help make improvements to that deck. Burchett said crews would have to tear it down if not for that work.

The John Tarleton Campus of the Helen Ross McNabb Center provides outpatient mental health care for adolescents. This campus, which used to house an orphanage, also provides foster care and juvenile justice services.
