A small East Tennessee newspaper should be back in operation in time for its Monday edition after shutting down its operations last week.
The Monroe County Daily News Express shut down after its publisher was seriously injured in a car crash in Greenback last Monday.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 31-year-old William Daniel Hall was hit head-on by 42-year-old Nicholas Steffa, of Sweetwater. Troopers believe Steffa was impaired when he was driving.
Hall was transported to UT Medical Center, where he was still recovering Sunday. His brother, David Hall, told 10News William Daniel Hall has been moved out of ICU and is slowly recovering.
Because Hall acts as the publisher, lead writer, photographer and part-owner of the newspaper, the operations were shut down after the crash.
But David Hall, who says he and his brother are the only two full-time employees of the paper, said he was working on the latest edition Sunday afternoon.
The Daily News Express is published Monday through Saturday.
