In a time when counties and cities are facing lawsuit threats over biblical references, one county in Middle Tennessee is considering a new way of paying tribute to the Christian faith.

The Putnam County Commission will consider placing the motto "In God We Trust" on all four sides of its courthouse in Cookeville. It's part of a plan first pitched by an area Baptist church.

Church members are also volunteering to raise funds for the project.

The full commission will take up the matter later this month.
