A Hawkins County man is facing felony charges after deputies found bath salts inside his car. Deputies arrested 35-year-old Randy Wade Hilton Thursday night.
Officers found packets of the drugs after they pulled Hilton over in a traffic stop. They say he planned to sell the bath salts, which were valued at $700.
New state law makes it a felony to sell bath salts or other synthetic drugs. The Hawkins County Sheriff's Office says the law has helped slow the local synthetic drug trade, but they say there's been a large increase of people importing the drugs from other states.
