Mitt Romney is moving up in some of the battleground states, if new polls are to be believed.

The Republican challenger has narrow leads in surveys of Florida, Colorado, New Hampshire and Virginia, more evidence that he benefited from last week's debate performance against President Obama.

Obama aides said they still like their positions in these key states.

Nationally, the Gallup daily tracking poll has Romney ahead 49%-47% among likely voters, while Obama leads 48%-46% among registered voters.

Meanwhile, Taegan Goddard's Political Wire summarized some of the new state surveys:

Colorado: Romney 48%, Obama 47% (Denver Post)

Florida: Romney 49%, Obama 46% (American Research Group)

Florida: Romney 51%, Obama 47% (Rasmussen)

Michigan: Obama 52%, Romney 45% (Rasmussen)

New Hampshire: Romney 50%, Obama 46% (American Research Group)

Virginia: Romney 49%, Obama 47% (Rasmussen)
