Downtown Maryville packed in the people and the big name acts for their 13th annual Foothills Fall Festival this weekend.

From Friday to Sunday, they estimate around 60,000 people come to the concerts, juried arts and crafts show, and kid's festival called Adventureland.

Musical acts like Train, Darius Rucker, and Gary Allen headlined the evening concerts.

A team of organizers from the City of Maryville plan for the event all year. For the event itself, about 400 volunteers pull the festival off.

The organizers make an effort to keep festival goers coming back each day.

"We work really hard to get good entertainment all three days. This year is probably the best caliber we've had on a Sunday," said Jane Groff, Maryville's Community Relations Manager.

The city knows the start power brings some of the best business locals will have all year.

"It's really been a great way for us to showcase this community to the outside world," Groff said. "It impacts everyone from hotels to gas stations to local retailers."

Boyd Thomas Clothing in Downtown Maryville said they did eight times their normal business on Saturday.

"It's better than Black Friday," said owner, Bill Wommack.

The city's goal is that visitors will like what they see and come back even when there's not a festival.
