A North Carolina-based restaurant finally opened in Knoxville Monday morning.
Tupelo Honey Cafe opened at 11:00 a.m. on Market Square in Downtown Knoxville.
The restaurant has two locations in Asheville, but wanted to expand to Tenneesse.
Tupelo Honey Cafe is a southern-style restaurant with a twist. They also offer a gluten-free menu.
The company hired 85 new employees who are ready to serve Knoxvillians.
"Knoxville's expectations of us are very extreme. They are very high of us. The popularity, the cult like fan base, they have extremely high expectations. We are going to be extremely busy and we plan to exceed those expectatoins," explained the General Manager of the Knoxville restaurante, David Powell.
Tupelo Honey Cafe will be open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
