An East Tennessee hospital plans to lay off more than two dozen employees.
On Thursday, Tennova Healthcare notified 27 employees they will be laid off. All of the employees work at the Physicians Regional Medical Center in North Knoxville.
Tennova blames the cuts on challenges in the health care industry.
The health care system says its human resources department will help those workers look for other opportunities within Tennova, or they will connect them with other local resources to help find a new job.
