The Field of Dreams is finally starting to take shape!
It will eventually be a place to play for the kids at the Boys and Girls Club of the Cumberland Plateau.
Workers from the Scott County Road Department were out there Friday, leveling the field to prepare it for fertilizer and sod.
Our resident agriculture expert, Neal Denton, also joined us at the site to make sure the soil was in good shape for the next step of the project.
"We're excited to finally get to do something with this Field of Dreams out here, very excited. We've had a lot of community support, the county and city really stepped up to help us get this job done," said Hank Hill
We've raised several thousand dollars so far for this project, And we'd still love your help to make the Field of Dreams a reality.
Many of the hundreds of kids who attend the club are at-risk because of the economic conditions in the county. This field could really impact their lives.
Our deadline to make this happen is October 27, that is Make a Difference Day for Channel 10 and WBIR's parent company, Gannett.
You can find out more information on the club and how you can help on the Field of Dreams page at WBIR.com.
