The pumpkin patch will always be a special place for one East Tennessee couple.

After winding his girlfriend through all the pumpkins at the Oakes Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Corryton Friday evening, James Ford popped the big question with a pumpkin appropriately carved "Marry Me?"

His girlfriend turned fiancee Amber Merritt said "yes"!

"I was a little nervous the whole time. I was rushed to get out here; we were a little late," said James.

James' mom and sister were there for the proposal. They were in costume and led the couple to the carved pumpkin.

James says he spent about two months planning the proposal. The couple has been dating for five years.
