Knox County approved a million dollar project to convert two of the county's most dangerous injections from two way stops into roundabouts.
The county estimated that over three years, there have been more than 40 wrecks at the intersections of Bob Gray Road and Mabry Hood Road, and Bob Gray Road and Kirby Road.
Engineering and Public Works Director Dwight Van DeVate said several studies have shown roundabouts as an effective way to make intersections more safe.
Some neighbors will have to give up land for the project, and they are not convinced a roundabout will fix the problem.
