We've had several viewers ask us about the paving project on Middlebrook Pike in West Knoxville. Some complained they haven't seen much progress, and were concerned it's taking longer than normal.
We checked in with TDOT for an update.
Crews are working to resurface the approximately nine miles of Middlebrook Pike from Cedar Bluff to Western Avenue.
First, crews had to remove the current surface, before laying down the new pavement.
TDOT says this is a big project, so crews have a lot of new to put down. Much of the work that's been done is the initial layer of the road, but crews still have another layer to go.
It's also a busy road. That means crews can only work Sunday through Thursday from 7 pm to 6am.
TDOT expects this work to be finished on or before November 15th.
