A home security company is expanding in Knox County, bringing hundreds of new jobs to the area.
On Thursday, ADT announced it's expanding its monitoring center here and plans to bring on 300 new employees. Most of the work at the center involves responding to alarm signals.
ADT recently spun off from its former parent company, Tyco International. Now, the security company says it's investing in its major markets. ADT says Knoxville has been a great location over the years.
"Employee engagement here is outstanding. We've got a great talent pool to draw from, and it really is one of our most productive sites and really customer focused locations for us," said ADT CEO Naren Gursahaney.
ADT will post the job openings on its website.
The Knox County facility is one of six ADT monitoring centers across the country. The security company has more than six million customers.
