A country superstar was back home in East Tennessee on Thursday for a charity concert.

The Lost Trailers, American Idol winner Scotty McCreery, and East Tennessee's own Rodney Adkins performed at the Valarium.

Adkins was born in Knoxville and grew up in Claiborne County. He said it was special to play in front of a hometown crowd.

"I carry this place everywhere," he said. "Like I said, my blood runs orange."

The concert will benefit the Helen Ross McNabb Center and Bethany Services of Knoxville, a local adoption agency.

Adoption is close to Rodney's heart. His parents adopted him from Holston Methodist Home for Children when he was a baby.

We also talked to Scotty McCreary on Thursday at Live at Five at Four. You can watch that entire interview here.
