Recall issued for Kays Classic Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

Schoep's Ice Cream Company of Madison, Wisconsin has issued a recall of Kays Classic Vanilla Bean Ice Cream because of a packaging error.

The company says the ice cream contains an undeclared allergen. 

Consumers, who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to pecans, run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The product was shipped to Food City and Super Dollar stores located in Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee.

The ice cream comes in a 48 oz container and has the UPC #0-87848-13021 with a Best if Used By Date of 02/28/14.

Consumers who have purchased the affected product are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
