Drivers made sure to slow down while traveling along I-75 near the Tennessee/Kentucky border Tuesday afternoon as a wintry mix pelted the roadway.

Snow and rain passed through the area around 5:30 p.m.

TDOT spokesperson Mark Nagi said I-75, from mile marker 140 to the Kentucky line, can quickly feel the effects of a storm if the conditions are right.

"Those are some areas that we do see ice on the roadways and when you get to those higher elevations, there's more snow possibilities, more ice possibilities on the roads," Nagi said. "So, people in that area definitely need to be aware of those things."

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, there were no accidents in Campbell County along I-75 Tuesday due to the weather. However, truckers like Daniel Searle told 10News they were going to remain cautious.

"It's the driving too fast when there's bad weather that makes it too dangerous," he said.
