One of East Tennessee's largest nightclubs is planning to close. The Valarium and Ciderhouse near downtown will shut its doors on November 25.
On the club's Facebook page, managers say they have no choice because of rule changes by the state.
They require businesses that serve alcohol to sell a certain amount of food and be open a minimum number of days per week. And since the Valarium is unable to meet those demands, it will not renew its license at the end of the month.
The club has hosted concerts and events both big and small in the past several years, including many well-known bands.
