Red Cross Donation Drive

The Knoxville office of the American Red Cross is hosting a Drive-Thru and Drop-Off monetary donation drive.

The drive runs from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5.

The office is located at 6921 Middlebrook Pike.

If you can't make it by and would still like to make a donation, you can give online, donate through the free Red Cross mobile app or text "REDCROSS" to 90999 to give a $10 donation.

The American Red Cross is also looking for people willing to donate a quart of blood.

The office hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Sevierville Winterfest

Sevierville kicks off its 23rd annual Winterfest celebration on Monday, Nov. 5.

The celebration features holiday displays throughout the city that include millions of LED twinkling lights.

2012 Buddy's Race Against Cancer

The 2012 Buddy's Race Against Cancer will be held on Sunday, November 11 in World's Fair Park.

Registration for the 5K run/walk and Walk in the Park begins at 1 p.m. Sunday. Team photos will be scheduled between 12:45 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The survivors photo and march begins at 2 p.m. at the Tennessee Amphitheater, which is followed by the Tribute to Survivor at 2:15 p.m.

The races begin at 3 p.m.

To register, visit the Buddy's Race Against Cancer website by Thursday, Nov. 8 or register at the event.

Money raised from the race goes to the Thompson Cancer Survival Center's Cancer Outreach Services program, which provides low-cost or free cancer screenings to members of the East Tennessee community and promotes education about cancer and cancer screenings and prevention.
