We're hearing from Congressman Scott DesJarlais after voters re-elected him despite reports he urged his mistress to have an abortion.
DesJarlais defeated State Senator Eric Stewart with a double-digit margin in the Fourth Congressional District race.
DesJarlais came under fire last month after records from his 2001 divorce showed the doctor pushed his patient to have an abortion when she claimed she was pregnant with his child. He has publicly opposed abortion.
The congressman talked with supporters after the votes were tallied late Tuesday night.
"It's been the second election in a row that's been more about a 14-year-old divorce than the issues, but sometimes that's the way politics go I guess. But we've endured the methods that were used. In the last election they didn't work, and they didn't work this time," he said.
DesJarlais' win means all nine members of the Tennessee Congressional delegation were re-elected.
