Vol fans may not be able to do much about helping their team win on the field, but they could victorious in the annual blood donation battle with Kentucky fans.

The 25th annual Battle of the Orange and Blue begins Nov. 12 and ends Nov. 16.

Medic says Kentucky has won the competition the past two years, so UT students, faculty and staff are encouraged to show their Volunteer pride and donate blood at one of the following times and locations:

• University Center, Suites 223-225, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Papa John's Pizza/Lake Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

This Battle of the Orange and Blue blood drive competition was started to help both Tennessee and Kentucky blood centers supply hospitals with blood during the holiday season when blood collections traditionally run low.

MEDIC, established in 1958, is a not-for-profit blood center and is the only blood collector and supplier for the greater East Tennessee area.
